Frank Filocamo

At Five Dock Optometry in Five Dock, we’re proud to welcome Frank Filocamo, an experienced and compassionate optometrist with a strong clinical interest in developmental and behavioural optometry. 

With over two decades of practice, Frank brings extensive expertise in helping patients with complex visual processing needs. He began his optometry career after graduating from the University of New South Wales and has since cultivated a respected reputation, especially amongst parents and educators, for his work in child vision development and learning-related vision challenges.

Clinical Interest: Developmental and Behavioural Optometry 

Frank’s professional focus lies in developmental and behavioural optometry, which addresses how vision affects development, learning and behaviour. He assesses and manages visual function beyond just clarity of sight—looking into eye tracking, teaming, focusing, visual perception and how these systems influence daily life, particularly for children. 

His approach is holistic, collaborative and tailored to individual needs. Whether it’s assisting a child struggling at school, managing visual processing difficulties, or guiding a rehabilitation journey post-brain injury, Frank is committed to supporting patients with thoughtful, evidence-based care. 

A Trusted Name in Pediatric Vision 

Before joining Five Dock Optometry, Frank practised at Leichhardt Eyecare and continues his work at Kids Eye Care, where he has gained the trust of countless families. His extensive experience in paediatric optometry ensures that every young patient is seen with patience, care, and insight. He collaborates closely with allied health professionals and educators to provide integrated support that makes a lasting impact.
